The Barbara Dahlem papers consist of a scrapbook that contains newspaper clippings, sporting event tickets, and other items which document Dahlem's time at MSU. The materials encompass the time when the Union was used as a women's dormitory because of overcrowding in the women's dorm. The remainder of the scrapbook features party invitations, get-well cards, her friend's wedding announcements, and other notes of friendship. There are also a few clippings about her husband.

The collection consists of two papers written for Michigan State University class projects by Jacqueline Holecek. “The Union Building at Michigan State University” was written in 1994 for class Human Environment and Design 851. It traces the history of the MSU Union and provides information on the architects Pond & Pond. The paper also includes information on the artists who also contributed to the building, Samuel Caswan, Leonard Jungwirth, John Martelly, and Edgar Yaeger....
